Importance of Attending Christian Colleges:
Just how important is it for Christian youth to attend one of the 19 endorsed Assemblies of God colleges and universities? Consider the following statistics. A report on the affect of secular institutions on evangelical students reveals that at least half and possibly as many as two-thirds will leave the faith while attending a secular college or university. In contrast, those lost to the faith while attending an evangelical school is at 5 percent. This is according to research reported in the March 2006 issue of Christianity Today, (p.80f) by Dr. Steve Henderson, president of Christian Consulting for Colleges and Ministries.”These are our children. They have learned in our Sunday schools and children’s churches, knelt at our altars, worked to give for BGMC and Speed the Light, and participated in our youth camps and conventions. But they are falling away from the faith once they leave home and enter a hostile-to-the-faith college and university atmosphere.”-Dr. George Wood, General Superintendent
